LinkedIn is a great tool for lead generation, particularly for business-to-business (B2B) companies.
But there can be limitations. In order to gain connections, you need to have some level of recognition. Be it through past interactions, a mutual acquaintance, a shared alma mater or workplace, and so on.
While you can certainly take advantage of these pre-existing connections, this list is finite. You may reach a point where it becomes harder to find people who will recognize you. Your sales team might also want to reach prospects who would have no way of recognizing them.
So, what can you do?
Generally, there are two options that many sales teams will choose. Either:
- Sending InMails through their LinkedIn Enterprise account; or
- Sending cold connection requests.
The problem is that both methods can take up a lot of time and, more than that, if you send too many connection requests that are denied, LinkedIn can actually penalize you.
